Dr. K. M. Sumathi M.A., Ph.D., Principal (FAC) an eminent scholar and a renowned English Teacher (recipient of First Time Speaker Award conferred by English Language Teachers Association of India in association with British Council in the First International Conference of ELTAI) has got 28 years of teaching experience and has produced 12 Ph.D. scholars in the field of Indian Writing in English, Comparative Literature, Diasporic Literature, English Language Teaching, Women's Writing and New Literatures in English.
To her credit she has published 2 Books and 77 Research Articles in the International and National peer reviewed and the UGC CARE Listed Journals.
Being an orator , her invited talk on "Displacement and Unsuccessful Marriage in Bharati Mukherjeei's Wife” in the Salford University , Greater Manchester , UK on 14 Sep 2014 is remarkable. She continues to deliver lectures in the Ministry of Education sponsored Faculty Development Program and in the International , National Conferences and Seminars organised by the Universities and Colleges.
She was selected for the Study Abroad Programme as an Academic Visitor to Salford University of Manchester, UK by Tamilnadu State Council for Higher Education (TANSCHE) in collaboration with British Council, UK (14.9.2014-24.1.2015).
UGC(1-Major and 1-Minor) and Tamilnadu State Council for Higher Education (TANSCHE-1 ) had granted her Research Projects for her immense and innovative research contribution to Education.
She is a member and a Trainer of Trainers of Tamilnadu State Council for Higher Education for Content Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) to enhance the Communication Skills of the Students of Government Colleges.
